As an Innovation Process Facilitator, your overall focus is to train and coach people to be more innovative in their everyday work. Your role is to introduce new knowledge and skills, while drawing upon the experience and skills that your participants already have.

The Trainer portion of this certification is designed to teach you how to deliver workshop sessions to people who have not yet been trained in the innovation process. The Coach portion of this certification is designed to teach you how to coach people who have taken a workshop or online course about the BeThinkAct™ process.

As a Facilitator, it’s important for you to develop your skills for working innovatively by practicing the BeThinkAct™ process in your own everyday work. Your experience with the process will give you personal stories to share, which add energy and credibility to your workshops and coaching sessions.

You can either be: (a) an employee training/coaching your company’s employees; or (b) a member of an external consulting/training firm, training/coaching your company’s clients. To qualify to be a VCI Innovation Process Facilitator, you must have at least 10 years of professional experience in positions involving talent development, training, consulting or coaching. A graduate degree in any field related to the above can count as 1 year of professional experience.

Before or simultaneous to taking this course, you should complete either: (a) a 1 or 2-day workshop on the BeThinkAct™ innovation process; OR a "Be Innovative" online course. Either of these 2 alternatives will give you a foundational understanding of the BeThinkAct™ methodology as well as the opportunity to apply the process to your own work.

Prior to enrolling in the Innovation Process Facilitator program, your company will need to sign a License Agreement with VCI:

• This agreement provides the terms and conditions for you to use a large repository of intellectual property in your training/coaching sessions. This repository includes a wealth of videos, Trainer and Coach Resource Guides with exercise materials, a Quick Trip Workbook, posters and more.
• If you’re an employee training/coaching your company’s employees, the License Agreement provides the fees and terms for your company to enroll employees in the Be Innovative online courses, onsite workshops and coaching sessions.
• If you’re a member of an external consulting/training firm, the License Agreement provides the fees and terms for your company to sell the online courses, onsite workshops and coaching sessions to your clients.

Under the License Agreement, you will personally be identified as a VCI-Certified Innovation Process Facilitator. Each year, your company must renew the certification for you to maintain your ability to access the training videos and materials and your permission to use them in your training and coaching sessions.

This is a completely self-paced online course with 5 hours of videos and learning, plus practice time. After enrolling, you will have 12 months of unlimited access to this course and the repository of resources you can use in your training and coaching sessions.

These resources are always available to you across all your devices anytime you need to train and coach others to be innovative in their every day work.

With each annual renewal of your Facilitator certification, you can extend your access and permission to use these resources for another 12 months.
